Ad.ly Analytics
Ad.ly is an in-stream advertising platform that matches top-tier Twitter publishers with top-tier brands. Ad.ly along with PeopleBrowsr launched Ad.ly Analytics in December 2009. Ad.ly Analytics allows you to better understand your followers and content on Twitter.
You can analyze your followers and content on Twitter like:
- How many engaged followers you have (real people, not bots, that are actually viewing your tweets)
- Followers gender (male and female segmentation)
- Followers location
- The times you tweet and the times you get mentioned or retweeted.
- Who interacts with you
- Sentiment Analysis
- … and much more
The goal of Ad.ly Analytics is to provide publishers with the tools they need to become better content creators and advertisers with a deeper understanding of a publisher’s audience.
Today, I received a message from one of my friends on twitter, Al Garretson @bloggernott, who converses with me almost daily.

My most influential followers are : @rleseberg, @shawnafennell, @GoldenTwineCom, @jw39, @calbosch. Go to http://analytics.ad.ly see yours.

I visited the site, and got my analytics to my satisfaction, and so I thought I must share this with my tweeples and blog readers. It will help you to understand your followers and become a better Twitter publisher.
Here is a detailed presentation of Ad.ly Analytics which has five sections:
1. Engaged Followers
Engaged followers are your followers that actually view and interact with your tweets. Disengaged followers are those that have a low probably of viewing your tweets because they have been recognized as a bot, have abandoned their Twitter account, have been suspended from Twitter, or simply are following way too many people and have a polluted stream.
33% of your followers are engaged (5030 of your followers)
67% of your followers are disengaged (10212 of your followers)
If you want, you could tweet this analytics:

Large percentage of engaged followers would show your celebrity status. I would like to differ about disengaged followers. There are large number of tweeples who could be taking interest in your tweets but may not engage with you. They could be silent admirers. I follow many twitter elites, and read their tweets but may not get engaged with them. Every twitterer has an inner circle who interact more with each other. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are totally disengaged with others. There are also language barriers, and some people would like to discuss only on specific topics. But on the whole you get a fare picture of how successful you have been in engaging others.
2. Followers Gender
Ad.ly analyzes each of your followers’ accounts to determine their gender.
69% of followers are males
31% of followers are females
If you want, you could tweet this analytics:

4. Time of Day – Tweets, Mentions and Retweets
This chart shows you the times of the day you tweet, the times of the day you get mentions, and the times of the day you get retweeted.
The chart shows that I am tweeting the most from 7pm to 1am. My tweets are not uniformly distributed as I have not yet automated my tweets. The mentions are also mostly during that period. I get retweeted the most at 21:00 GMT%2B5.5 everyday.
If you want, you could tweet this analytics:

3 Days Free Trial
They have offered me 3 days free trial. But in this trial offer they have only provided me with detailed location report.
I have the most number of followers from the US – 3916, followed by Canada – 321, Australia – 277, and Great Britain – 267. I have followers from about 105 countries.
Though I am an Indian yet I have only 232 followers from my own country, and very few followers from my own city, Kolkata. Ironically, my Twitter Grader ranks are very good for India and Kolkata most of the days (See ScreenGrabs below).
Twitter Grader is a free tool that allows you to check the power of your twitter profile compared to millions of other users that have been graded.
As on 22/4/2010 at 6pm IST, my Grader ranks were:
Overall – 1,650 out of 6,786,696 (mostly between 1,400 to 1,700)
Kolkata – 1 (mostly at rank 1)
India – 8 (mostly in Top 50)

Thanks for making this post. Could prove to be useful to me.
Twitter Grader is also a great tool. The same company makes WebGrader which is a very helpful tool for SEO.
Thanks for your comments.
I use WebGrader from HubSpot as well since Feb 2009. My website grade is 87 but blog grade is only 44 as my blog is new with only 50 articles posted so far.
