Shera song to be performed at the opening ceremony
Shera the mascot is the face of the Delhi Games and exhorts everyone to come out and play. Sports Minister Dr MS Gill launched a song dedicated to Shera to celebrate enthusiasm for the Games, on September 9, 2010. Chak de Shera, as the song is titled, has been chosen to be performed at the Games opening ceremony on October 3, 2010.

Music maestro AR Rahman tweaks CWG, Delhi 2010 theme song
The revised version of Commonwealth Games official theme song, Swagatham, by Oscar winner Indian music composer AR Rahman, is released accompanied by Bharat Bala’s music video featuring some of the famed Indian sports persons showcasing the achievements of India in the field of sports. The song has now been turned into a “peppy sports anthem”.

Curtain raiser to nineteenth Commonwealth Games
The Queen’s Baton Relay is a tradition of the Commonwealth Games and acts as a curtain raiser to every Games since Cardiff 1958 Commonwealth Games in Wales. The relay symbolises the unity and shared ideals of the Commonwealth of Nations, and enables communities beyond the Host City to share the Games celebrations.
