The popular blogging platform WordPress have announced on their official blog the end of support for PHP 4 and MySQL 4 in the near future. WordPress 3.1 which is due in late 2010 will be the last version of WordPress to support PHP 4 and MySQL 4.

WordPress 3.0 named Thelonious was released on June 17, 2010 after half a year of work by 218 contributors. It is the thirteenth major release of WordPress. It includes major new features, a new default theme called Twenty Ten, integration of WordPress MU into WordPress, allowing the management of multiple sitesfrom one WordPress installation.
