Clean Your Twitter Inbox

Twitter Applications – InboxCleaner

All major social media networks enables you to send private messages to people you are connected with. The facility on Twitter is called Direct Messages or the DM for short.

Direct messages are of use for personal communication and the sharing of less public links such as e-mail addresses. I use DM to interact with my web design clients more conveniently as my Twitter account is online for many hours a day unlike email.

But spammers use DM as a convenient tool to spam. Moreover, you keep getting irrelevant or courtesy messages and requests if you have a large following. I find DM on Twitter as annoying as Aps and Games requests on Facebook.

Even reputed contacts spam you at times. I received a sponsored ad as DM from Apple News (Twitter account of Apple Support site) on January 22, 2014. See the screenshot below:

Besides, the direct messages keep accumulating as you are to delete them one by one unlike email where bulk action is allowed.

Twitter allows you to “Delete this direct message / Report this message.” Reporting is not a good practice, and I use it rarely when someone spams repeatedly.

I have cleaned my direct messages with a tool called InboxCleaner. You may give it a try:

InboxCleaner is built by Thomas Buck, TBB Polska’s founder.

InboxCleaner lets you delete up to 10 direct messages for free. To delete more messages than that, you must upgrade. But it deleted 20 messages for me for free.

Give it a try for free. If you like it, you may decide to upgrade. But I shall review more such tools in the coming days to give you a better choice.

Social Media consists of media that support and encourage social interaction among users. For instance, online discussion forums are designed to allow people to post messages and for other users to respond in kind.
While there may be social aspects to any medium (e.g. links to share an article by email), social media typically refers to those media whose major functions are oriented toward sharing of information, and consequently most of the information on such media are generated by users. Common examples of social media sites are Twitter and Facebook.
Social media marketing is the process of promoting your site or business through social media channels.
