Google Feature – Google Friend Connect
Google Friend Connect Retired on March 1, 2012
We had added Google Friend Connect on our self-hosted WordPress GoldenTwine blog to power our site’s community that was growing steadily.
Google announced on their official blog on November 23, 2011 that they are retiring Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012.
However, Google’s Blogger sites may still use the Google Friend Connect.
We wrote about that announcement on our blog:

Google has his own suggestions for Friend Connect users about how to keep in touch with their community:
As previously announced, we are retiring Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012. We encourage you to create a Google+ page and place a Google+ badge on your site. When you bring your community of followers to Google+, you can use new features like Circles and Hangouts to keep in touch.
