Google Plus – Google+ Badges
On November 9, 2011, Google officially unveiled Google+ badge by making it available to their Google+ platform preview group. The Google+ badge is a customizable widget that helps you connect your site to a Google+ page.
Google announced on Google+ Platform Blog on November 9, 2011:
Drive Engagement with Your Users on Google+, Right from Your Own Website
On Monday we launched Google+ Pages, to help people connect with all the things they care about – and lots of businesses and brands have already created pages. One item you may have missed in the initial announcement was the project I worked on, the Google+ badge.

And on November 16, 2011, the Google+ badge was out of preview and available to all users on all sites. Featuring both an add to circle and a +1 button, the Google+ badge makes it simple for your users to add your Google+ business page to their Google+ circles and +1 your page, all without leaving your site.
The Google+ badge also qualify you for Google+ Direct Connect, which lets people type +yourPage on Google search and automatically start following your page.
If you have linked your Google+ page to your site, the number of people who have +1d your page should soon begin to reflect all the +1s that your site has earned, not just the number of people subscribed to your page.
But there may be a delay before the count shown on the badge includes +1s from across your brand. During this delay, the badge will show the count of +1s from your Google+ page. (My badge as of today shows only the count of +1s from my Google+ page.)
Link Google+ Page to Site
Linking your Google+ business page to your site is very easy. Use the Google+ badge configuration tool to generate the exact code for adding a Google+ badge to your site. The Google+ badge is available in different styles to accomodate your site’s needs.
