WordPress News – New Release

On July 4, 2011, WordPress Version 3.2 Gershwin, named in honor of noted composer and pianist George Gershwin, was released to the public.

The focus for this release was making WordPress faster and lighter. The default theme is replaced by fully HTML5 new Twenty Eleven theme.

WordPress now requires a minimum of PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0, so make sure that you are ready before upgrading. Support for the long-outdated Internet Explorer 6 has been dropped too.
