Google Plus — More Options for Google+ Badges

The Google+ badge is a customizable widget that helps you connect your site to a Google+ page. Featuring both an add to circle and a +1 button, the Google+ badge makes it simple for your users to add your Google+ business page to their Google+ circles and +1 your page, all without leaving your site.

Google officially unveiled Google+ badge in developer preview on November 9, 2011. And soon it was available to all users on all sites on November 16, 2011.

On January 26, 2012, Google have added more options for integrating the Google+ badge into your website first in developer preview (and soon available to all your users).

Google announced on Google+ Platform Blog on January 26, 2012:

Google+ badges
When we launched Google+ pages in November, we also released Google+ badges to promote your Google+ presence right on your site. Starting today in developer preview (and soon available to all your users), we’re adding more options for integrating the Google+ badge into your website.

Google+ Badge

The Google+ badge may show a link to your Google+ page, an Add to circles button, and a +1 button. By default, the badge will have a width of 300px, a height of 131px, and include all three elements.

The width could be set between 100 and 1024 pixels. A minimum width of 100px is required for a 131px height badge, a minimum width of 170px is required for a 69px height badge.

There are two valid heights, 69px and 131px. The badge will not render if an invalid height is specified. You may have a Small Badge of height 69px or a Standard Badge of height 131px.

The color theme of the badge, use dark when placing the badge on a page with a dark background.

I got the preview code at Google+ Platform, and here are three examples of how the Google+ Badge looks for our page:

Light Standard Badge with default settings

Dark Small Badge with height of 69px

Light Small Badge with width of 100px

The Google+ Badge makes it easy for your fans to find and follow you on Google+. With these additional options, it will be even easier to create a badge that fits your website.

Internet Marketing (Social Media) — Google

Social Media consists of media that support and encourage social interaction among users. For instance, online discussion forums are designed to allow people to post messages and for other users to respond in kind.
While there may be social aspects to any medium (e.g. links to share an article by email), social media typically refers to those media whose major functions are oriented toward sharing of information, and consequently most of the information on such media are generated by users. Common examples of social media sites are Twitter and Facebook.
Social media marketing is the process of promoting your site or business through social media channels.
