All the venues of the 2011 Cricket World Cup were announced on November 2, 2009 in Mumbai by the International Cricket Council. In Sri Lanka, two new stadiums have been constructed for the World Cup. They are located in Kandy and Hambantota.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Official Theme Song is composed by the Indian popular music trio of Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy. The lyrics of the song have been written by Manoj Yadav. De Ghuma Ke will also be dubbed in Bengali and Sinhalese as India is co-hosting the event along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The song has been marketed by Ogilvy and Mather.

Stumpy, a ten year old elephant, is the official mascot for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He was unveiled at a function in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Friday, April 2, 2010. He is very young, enthusiastic, and bursting at the seams with his love for cricket and its heroes. He thinks cricket is the most fun game in the world. He loves playing street cricket, would play 24/7 if he could, and dreams of playing in the World Cup one day.
