Today marks the 116th birth anniversary of Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre (November 18, 1901 – October 30, 1990), referred to as V Shantaram or Shantaram Bapu, who was a Marathi Indian consummate actor, innovative editor, insightful director and film producer. He is most known for classic films such as Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, and Do Aankhen Baara Haath. Over the decades he produced 92 films, directed 55 films and acted in 25 films.
