Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated by Narhuram Godse on 30^th January 1948 in New Delhi. When he was going for his morning prayer he was shot thrice by Nathuram Godse.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi better known as Mahatma Gandhi is the father of our nation. He was born in Kathiawar in a place called Porbandar on 2^nd October, 1869. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi and mother's Putlibai. At the age of 13 he married Kasturba. After passing Matriculation in India he went to England to study law. He came back to India much later from South Africa as a barrister. He followed the path of non-violence to gain Independence for India from British rule.
