Google Feature – Animated Happy Birthday Doodle
16th Birth Anniversary of Google
Google’s sweet sixteenth birthday is being celebrated with an animated doodle on September 27, 2014.
Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were PhD students at Stanford University. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998.
The interesting fact is that despite September 27 not being the date of the company’s incorporation, the first time Google created a doodle to celebrate its 4th birthday was on September 27, 2002. Since 2006, Google is celebrating its birthday on September 27 with a doodle every year.
The animated Google doodle sees the letter G wearing a party hat and measuring the height of the first letter O and the letter L. The letter O, which at first is ecstatic at having grown substantially since its last measurement, appears sullen upon the realization that the letter L is so much taller.

On clicking the doodle, it takes the visitor to Google search result page for news on Google.
This Day in History (September 27, 2014) section of the Doodles Archive page also shows the company having celebrated September 27 as its birthday with a doodle on 9 separate occasions.
Over the years, doodles on the Google homepage have made searching on Google more fun and enjoyable for its users worldwide. When doodles were first created, nobody had anticipated how popular and integral they would become to the Google search experience. Nowadays, many users excitedly anticipate the release of each new doodle and some even collect them!
