The slideshow doodle features 10 slides including a few interstitial slides presenting scenes from his most famous works. The first slide depicts Tolstoy writing at his desk by candlelight, and the Google logo on the wall behind. The 3rd slide with the title of his famous novel War and Peace, depicting its central character Countess Natasha on a balcony followed by a scene from the novel. The 6th slide with the title of the novel Anna Karenina, depicting the scene where Anna and Vronsky meet for the first time followed by a scene from the novel. Next the doodle showcases the novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich followed by another scene. The last slide features Leo Tolstoy standing (see below) in the forest of Yasnaya Polyana, where he was born on September 9 1828, with the Google logo in the background between the trees.
Over the years, doodles on the Google homepage have made searching on Google more fun and enjoyable for its users worldwide. When doodles were first created, nobody had anticipated how popular and integral they would become to the Google search experience. Nowadays, many users excitedly anticipate the release of each new doodle and some even collect them!
