Weekend Video Post – Jiaozhou Bay Bridge
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, the world’s longest ocean bridge, opened to traffic on Jun 30, 2011 in the eastern city of Qingdao in Shandong Province. The 26 mile long bridge across Jiaozhou Bay has taken four years to complete, and links the eastern city of Qingdao with two offshore islands of Huangdao and Hongdao.
The sea bridge is the longest of its kind in the world. It costs more than 1.5 billion US dollars and has a life expectancy of a hundred years.
I am embedding two beautiful videos uploaded on YouTube about the world’s longest Cross-Sea Bridge. The first video narrates the story of the new bridge while the second one is a visual delight. Enjoy both the videos.
