For International Women’s Day in 2016, the doodle team visited 13 countries and asked more than 300 women and girls to share their dreams by completing the sentence, “One day I will…” The result is an animated video showing a world of possibilities: Daughters, mothers and grandmothers aspiring to own a restaurant, play professional baseball, see the rings of Saturn, be a mommy.

Google has posted a new doodle on its homepage on Monday dedicated to ICC T20 World Cup 2016 beginning in India from March 8. The latest doodle gives a bird’s eye view of a cricket stadium with the players in blue, red and the umpires in white on the field while the crowd cheering them from behind. A big banner of Google can be seen in the background. After clicking on the doodle the user is directed to a new page consisting of the entire schedule of the upcoming matches.

Google has commemorated the 182nd anniversary of the birthday of Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev (February 8, 1834 – February 2, 1907). He was a Russian chemist and inventor. He formulated the Periodic Law, created a farsighted version of the periodic table of elements, and used it to correct the properties of some already discovered elements and also to predict the properties of eight elements yet to be discovered.

Google has commemorated the 103rd anniversary of the birthday of Amrita Sher-Gil. She was an eminent Indian painter born to a Punjabi Sikh father and a Hungarian Jewish mother. Sometimes known as India’s Frida Kahlo, and today considered an important woman painter of 20th century India, whose legacy stands at par with that of the Masters of Bengal Renaissance. She is also the ‘most expensive’ woman painter of India.

In honor of India’s 67th Republic Day, Artist Robinson Wood created today’s Google Doodle as a tribute to the camel contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) that patrols the India-Pakistan border. The colourful doodle shows men on top of six elaborately decorated camels. Each of the six camels carries a letter of the word ‘Google’ on its golden caparison.

Wilbur Scoville, an American chemist born in Bridgeport Connecticut on January 22, 1865, is responsible for the “Scoville Organoleptic Test”, a scale of “hotness” that has been the definitive rating of how spicy a chilli is for more than 100 years.
