Today MS-DOS is 30 years old. Thirty years ago, on July 27, 1981, Microsoft gave the name MS-DOS to the disk operating system it bought from Seattle Computer Products, a hardware company owned by Rod Brock.

According to Net Applications, usage of IE6 was still at a high 12% last month. Microsoft wants to have that number reduced to less than 1 percent. Wishing for the end of IE6 usage, the software giant took a stand by launching a new website on March 4, 2011, The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown, with the slogan, Moving the world off Internet Explorer 6.
