Today marks the 93rd birth anniversary of Mohammed Rafi (December 24, 1924 – July 31, 1980), referred to as Pheeko during childhood, who was an Indian iconic film playback singer and one of the most popular and successful singers of Hindi films. He was notable for his voice and versatility; his songs ranged from classical numbers to patriotic songs, sad lamentations to highly romantic numbers, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans. Google today celebrates the 93rd Birth Anniversary of Mohammed Rafi with a doodle.

Here is to a day filled with love, warmth, and mugs of hot cocoa. Today’s doodle depicts the various letters spelling out Google sitting comfortably around the fireplace, sipping presumably hot cocoa, opening gifts and knitting.

Yesterday, Google released Happy Holidays 2016 Google doodle celebrating the tradition of caroling. Today, on Christmas Eve, Google spreads more cheer with yet another doodle on ‘Tis The Season, where we see the Google letters making hearts, stars, smiley faces and hand-prints behind fogged up windows. Like yesterday’s Google Doodles, the animated images are designed by Gerben Steenks and come in two versions.
