The National Nutrition Week is an annual nutrition event initiated by Food and Nutrition Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. It is observed throughout the country from 1st to 7th September every year. The main objective to celebrate nutrition week is to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition for health which has an impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately National development. Theme in 2017 is “Optimal Infant & Young Child Feeding Practices: Better Child Health.”

Khudiram Bose was an Indian Bengali freedom fighter, who was the youngest revolutionary early in the Indian independence movement. At the time of his hanging, he was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days old. He was born on December 3, 1889 in the village of Mohoboni at Keshpur Block in Paschim Midnapore district of West Bengal. Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki were chosen by Barindra Kumar Ghosh and tasked with the murder of Kingsford, the District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Prafulla shot himself dead, and Khudiram was arrested. He was hanged to death at 6 am on August 11, 1908.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on July 26 every year in honour of the Kargil War’s Heroes. On this day, July 26, 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, and ended on July 26. 527 soldiers from Indian Armed Forces sacrificed their lives during the war. National Doctors' Day 2017

The National Doctors’ Day is a day celebrated in health care organizations to recognize the contributions of physicians to individual lives and communities. The National Doctors’ Day is celebrated in India on July 1 to honor the legendary Indian physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, aged 80 years. Dr BC Roy was honored with the country’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961 for his works in the medical field.
