
Today marks the 120th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa to Janakinath Bose and Prabhabati Devi. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (January 23, 1897 – unconfirmed) was a Indian nationalist and leader of an independence movement during the 1930’s and 40’s. He sought the support of Germany and Japan and led an Indian national political and military force to fight against British imperialism in India during World War II. He was one of the most prominent leaders who struggled for India’s Independence from British rule, and is a legendary figure in India today.
