Twitter Guide – Embed This Tweet
A new version of Twitter was rolled out on December 8, 2011, initially only to a limited number of users and then to all users on February 16, 2012.
One of the features of Twitter new version is Embed This Tweet. The Embedded Tweet feature allows websites to generate copy and paste-able HTML markup to render a Tweet on any third-party website. Viewers of the embedded tweet may retweet, reply, favorite, and follow the tweet author without leaving the page.
Embed This Tweet
If you have a website or blog, you can now embed individual tweets on a web page or blog post.
As an example, I publish testimonials from clients and endorsements from friends on the social media on my website. From now on, I shall be easily able to embed Twitter endorsements on my site that would be mor authentic and interactive.

Similarly, whenever I write a blog article about Twitter, I shall be able to embed live tweets as examples to illustrate a point.
For example, in my previous Twitter article, I embedded the announcement made by the Twitter’s official support account about Twitter new version.
How to Embed a Tweet
To illustrate the simple procedure to embed this tweet, I visited today the #Discover page of my Twitter account to check out what Stories are trending:
I chose the story about Ricky Ponting being axed from ODI side. I Clicked View Tweets about this → on the #Discover page that took me to “Ricky Ponting” search results.
I selected a tweet by ESPN as a reliable source for this story from the search results page. The embed feature is available only on the details page of any tweet. So I clicked on the link Details.
On the details page of the tweet, click on Embed this Tweet .
A dialog box pops up to generate the copy and paste-able HTML markup or shortcode to embed the tweet. You may customize the alignment of the embedded tweet on your site. You may simply link to the tweet using the URL of the Tweet.
You may use a shortcode for rendering the embedded Tweet on platforms which support Tweet shortcodes, such as WordPress.com or Posterous Spaces. For other sites use the HTML markup.
Copy the code, and paste it on your site where you want to render the tweet.

As another example, I chose a video that is trending today:
I repeated the procedure as outlined above to get the code to embed the video tweet.
