Google Feature – Happy Holidays 2016 Animated Doodle
The internet giant Google gets in festive spirit publishing on home page an adorable and animated Happy Holidays 2016 doodle on December 23, 2016. This year’s Happy Holidays Google doodle is celebrating the tradition of caroling.
Each of the letters in the word Google represent a caroler singing ‘Tis the Season Christmas carol song under a street lamp, with the letter l waiting patiently to strike the triangle when the conductor, the letter e, gives it the nod.
December 23 is considered the first day of the Christmas and New Year holiday season. ‘Tis the season is a line from the popular 1862 Christmas carol Deck the Halls, and is also an album of Christmas songs by Olivia Newton-John and Vince Gill.
Today’s Google Doodles are designed by Gerben Steenks and comes in two versions.

Holidays 2016 (Day 1)
‘Tis the season for song! Wintertime brings with it a number of traditions, but few as old or joyful as caroling. Dating back thousands of years, the original carols were songs specific to certain regions, and shared by wandering minstrels on their travels between towns. It wasn’t until the early 1800’s that the practice of caroling as we know it, spread across England and western Europe. During this time, cities began hosting outdoor orchestras that played songs for people to sing along with as they walked by.
