The first edition of Commonwealth Games was held in Hamilton, Canada from 16 – 23 August, 1930. The nineteenth edition of the Games is scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between October 3, 2010 and October 14, 2010.

Delhi is hosting the XIX Commonwealth Games between October 3 and October 14, 2010. It will also be the first time the Commonwealth Games will be held in India. Delhi has previously hosted the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982.
